The Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII - Official Complete Guide is the only official Final Fantasy VII guidebook authored in-house by Square Enix. Unfortunately, it's also the slimmest. After a short but beautiful section full of character art and overviews, the bulk of the book's 300-odd pages break down the game's gameplay, story, and myriad missions, with a brief account of the game's Japanese-only multiplayer mode. Toward the end of the book is where we find its lore. A meaty interview with the game's lead developers is followed by an enlightening Q&A session with other key staff. Topping these off are a concept art gallery, keyword collection, and timeline of events. Short but sweet, the Dirge of Cerberus Official Complete Guide inherits the gothic aesthetics of its namesake and sheds light on an important Compilation entry whose lore is all too often overlooked. We're pleased to present the full scanlated text of this book, minus strategy-specific sections.
