Referred to by English-speaking fans simply as "Dismantled," Final Fantasy VII: The Complete Dismantled True Story was released just two months after Final Fantasy VII's Japanese debut. It marked Studio BentStuff's first entry in its Kaitai Shinsho series (a wordplay on the seminal Japanese medical text) and its first time writing a guidebook for a Final Fantasy game. By the time Fantasy VIII rolled around, BentStuff had switched editors and publishers, along with the name of its in-depth strategy guides, now referred to as Ultimanias. Like the Ultimanias that came after it, Dismantled features a comprehensive breakdown of the game's characters, story, strategy, quests, and secrets, as well as exclusive interviews with members from the game's development staff. Though not as hefty as later tomes, it garnered much popularity and praise from Japanese fans. We're pleased to present the full scanlated text of this book, minus strategy-specific sections. Kick back and let yourself be transported to the golden year of 1997 with all the nostalgic content this guidebook has to offer.
