The Final Fantasy VII Official Establishment File is the first ever official guidebook published for Final Fantasy VII. Released just six days before the game hit shelves, it gave readers a preview of what they could expect from Square's upcoming blockbuster RPG. The first of the book's two sections focuses on characters, giving a rundown of each, accompanied by illustrations and high-resolution in-game model renders. The second section focuses on Final Fantasy VII's world, and includes high-definition images of various field maps from the game along with descriptions of the locations pictured. The Official Establishment File is home to some exclusive and eyebrow-raising lore. Because the materials Square provided for this guidebook were taken from a 1996 beta version of the game, it presents a fascinating snapshot of the game's late development. Readers will have to draw their own conclusions about what information is still accurate to the final release's lore. We're pleased to present the full scanlated text of this book, cover to cover.
